Miracle of Accomplishment

Miracle of Accomplishment

Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 2nd January 2021, Saturday, 12:48 p.m.-1:48 p.m., in my room, Nerima City, Tokyo, Japan

A simple yes,

Goes a long way;

You'll have rest,

Both night and day.

As you start walking,

You also begin talking;

The sound of engine,

Identifying adrenaline.

Smooth,

If you wonder;

Stuck,

If you wonder,

Who do you call after,

Emergency number?

The pain you face,

It's not your race;

Being alive,

More than survive.

Humans have limits,

Only satisfy our fits;

Yet we're still hungry,

We become greedy.

Nothing's successful,

Doing things alone;

However resourceful,

God sits on His throne.

He spoke to me,

Just the other day;

Kids need guided play,

Guided path for adults,

But that's not it,

The wisdom received;

Is the result of belief,

Faith is seeing unseen.

With the Holy Spirit,

It doesn't mean easy;

But He's promised,

You're never lonely.

The life you're in,

Is already set by Him;

Trust in His planning,

Obey His good timing.

All you've got,

Praise the LORD;

You'll enjoy a lot,

Provided by God.

Scene after scene,

Season after season;

Once Accomplished,

That's His Miracle.

What's mine is His,

He carries for me;

My joy and weary,

He said to be steady.

A task,

A responsibility;

Adjust,

An adversity.

Everyday's challenging,

Ever changing;

But one thing remains,

His Love like the rains.

Accept Him,

You'll be loving;

Follow Him,

You'll be rejoicing.

As you start walking,

You also begin talking;

The sound of living,

Identifying giving.

A simple yes,

Goes a long way;

You'll have rest,

Both night and day.

Pandemic Love

Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen dedicated to my loving boyfriend, MepMep,

10th August 2020 (Monday), alone in my room, 10:08-11:45 p.m., Nerima City, Tokyo, Japan

This is a love story,

Of MepMep and me;

I shall keep it short,

Solid as a built fort.

We met via SNS,

Yes;

Online,

He fell for my smile.

He surprised me,

Came to meet;

4th July 2020,

Coupled officially.

Coronavirus,

Number of cases;

Masks and measures,

Hugs and kisses.

Honest to each other,

Been single for years;

Gaze and laughter,

Prayers over fears.

We're both Christians,

He's my miracle;

I knew from Angels,

My ideal multicultural.

I'm 33 Malaysian,

He's 29 Filipino;

Age isn't a question,

He truly fits my soul.

Romantic,

Understanding;

Supportive,

Conserving.

Courageous,

Selfless;

Your history,

My blessing.

I've been waiting,

You must live;

God's planning,

We trust Him.

Weekends,

The best;

Jeremiah 29:11,

Our same direction.

Sharing similarities,

Valuing differences;

Teas and coffees,

Films and dishes.

Simple lifestyle,

Worthwhile;

Holding hands,

Dancing trends.

Your comfort,

Your word;

Your voice,

Your choice.

You came and stayed,

Through shine or rain;

Mahal kita, darling,

Honey pie, wo ai ni.

Acceptance,

Deliverance;

Perseverance,

Substance.

Baby, salamat po,

To forever we go;

Xie xie ni, terima kasih,

You I wanna be with.

It was 17th June,

He made his move;

Thanks to Instagram,

I played hard to get.

This is our love story,

Of Jenn and Ramil;

A real man that I long,

One journey so strong.

What's mine is Yours

What's mine is Yours

Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 30th May 2020 (Saturday), 10:45-11:06 a.m., alone in my room in Tokyo, Japan

Lord, here I am,
In Your Hands;
You make me whole,
Without silver and gold.

I am touched by Your Love,
You are all that I have;
You know my heart's desire,
I long for You like a burning fire.

Your Word is so powerful,
Even mountains bow down before You;
You give me more than I should,
My Jesus, Angels rejoice,
As I shout for joy,
I will never stop;
I worship You alone,
On my knees, I fall,
What's mine is Yours,
What's mine is Yours.

You deserve all glory of praise,
Every nation will be amazed;
By Your Spirit and Grace,
We want to see you face to face.

Healed by Your Grace

Healed by Your Grace

Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 27th May 2020 (Wednesday), 8:09-8:45 a.m., alone in my room in Tokyo, Japan

Frozen in darkness,
Temporary muse;
Broken into pieces,
Stationary news.

Colors turn to dullness,
Ordinary views;
Freedom seems distant,
Uncertain pains abuse.

I hear You call,
Your word;
Calms the storm,
I raise my hands,
Walk in Your plans,
You give me rest;
No more despair,
You change my world,
You change my world.

I'm safe in prayers,
I live in Your truths;
My hope in You, Jesus,
It never ever dues.

On my knees I praise,
My faith bears fruits;
Healed by Your grace,
Now I know my roots.

I hear You call,
Your word;
Calms the storm,
I raise my hands,
Walk in Your plans,
You give me rest;
No more despair,
You change my world,
You change my world.

The battle is Yours,
You provide all cures.

I hear You call,
Your word;
Calms the storm,
I raise my hands,
Walk in Your plans,
You give me rest;
No more despair,
You change my world,
You change my world.

Be like a snowflake ❄

Random poem in my head witnessing this snowy morning [11th February 2019; Monday] now (getting lesser and almost gone but still floating here and there) through my share house's window:

Be like a snowflake ❄
You're one's baby
You're temporary with so much memory
No, that's not a mistake
You break
Yet you give it all
You fall
You crawl
That's how you soar
You're a quiet passerby
You're light
You fly
You're pretty even when you cry
You don't brake
You glow at one take
Be like a snowflake ❄
;
Be like a snowflake ❄
Nothing's being too late
Your ability to make one wait
The one that makes one anticipate
You're free like the wind
You're dancing with your bestie
You're like flowing icing on the cake
You know your taste
Be like a snowflake ❄

You may read from the bottom up, too. Cheers ❤

Find Your Song

Find Your Song
Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, Author of "Of Roses and Gerberas", In my rented room, Singapore

Find your song,
Turn it on all night long;
Before it ends,
Find out who cares,
And begin again.

A Meal Gone Wrong

A Meal Gone Wrong: Written Originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, Author of "Of Roses and Gerberas"

A not-so-sunny afternoon,
There goes a platoon;
Seeking for food,
Around the industrial-hood.

A group of men,
Just three, not ten;
Ordered in a gang,
Gobbled and ran.

I am puzzled,
Of so many muscles;
The leftovers are troubled,
To some, they are a double.

The society today,
Be it as they may;
When teeth decay,
Will you let them stay?

Scarcity of food is rising,
While you are enjoying;
People are starving, dying,
And animals non-excluding.

Singapore is a clean country,
Celebrated the glorious SG50;
Then, what behaviour is this?
What if it is a an occasion, a feast?

Absorb the nutrients,
While you can;
Mother Nature is fierce,
Weapon mightier than fang.

Before I end,
I humbly extend;
Please understand,
Make a better land.

News are everywhere,
Food wastage, shortage;
Encouraging returning trays,
"So sweet" meant to praise?

Food is sweet enough,
Because of it;
We are tough,
Gratitude on God's blessing.

As an entity,
The money invested in;
Everyday chewing,
Brains developing.

I am a foreigner,
I love this nation;
Thinking of this notion,
I just can't disappear.

Please hear my voice,
Little but with noise;
Please do not waste,
Return tray, don't hesitate.

Thank you so much,
Directly from my heart;
Remember to feed the lack,
Add deeds to your own rack.

Victor Vasarely

Victor Vasarely
Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 4th July 2015, Saturday, 1:24 p.m.-1:41p.m., having lunch alone in Adam's Hawker Centre, Dunearn Road, Singapore

Draw a line,
Stop.
Curve upside,
Stop.

Repeat until the end,
As straight as you can;
Try not to have a bend,
Enough for eyes to scan.

Look at the time,
Oh, faster!
Erase pencil line,
Oh, bother!

Choose your frame,
Gallery Time to aim;
Remember what to say?
What is his name?

Optical art,
A line a part;
Victor Vasarely,
Things in 3D.

See it carefully,
As brains perceive;
If it's popping,
It's greatly achieved!

What's your message to me?
And also to everybody;
From hi-5 to anything,
Kudos on your masterpiece!

Profession

Profession
Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 5th June 2015, Friday, 1:26 p.m.-1:36 p.m., Lunching alone in Adam's Hawker Centre, Botanic Gardens

One, two, three,
Action!
My mind is thinking,
Profession.

Being in education,
Is this my destination?
Oh no, thought of changes,
Which also means challenges.

Teaching children,
Caring patients;
Where's the turn?
What's patience?

From head to tummy,
All the way to the feet;
Hope I didn't do anything,
Hurting with or without ink.

I pray for speedy recovery,
For those needing it;
Deeply I'm very sorry,
You outburst crying suddenly.

Yet you accepted me,
Sitting on my lap quietly;
Glad there was Mommy,
Carrying you up gently.

And so I thought again,
Where should I begin?
Leave this or stay,
To wherever it may?

Suffering in His Happiness

Suffering in His Happiness
Written Originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 7th March 2015, Saturday, 6:46 p.m.-7:03 p.m., Sitting in 187 bus heading to Woodlands Interchange

Clarity of mind,
He came in kind;
Loving it behind,
From hi to bye.

A step too late,
Entering her gate;
He didn't wait,
Memories of rate.

Attached yet single,
Mud a puddle;
Baby without cradle,
Dreams do shatter.

Women in collection,
How is that loyal?
Women in separation,
How is that love?

Words do hurt,
Actions still heard;
Humbly he courted,
Words he ended.

She is suffering in his happiness,
He realizes he is being careless;
Miss, kiss, miss, kiss,
Does fate even exist?

Orange Porridge

Orange Porridge
Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 23rd December 2014, Tuesday, 8:00 a.m.-8:32 a.m., sitting in my cousin, Hui's room in SG, a random title for children's literary fun understanding and rhyming, Blessed and Merry Christmas, my dear readers! :"D

There goes my orange porridge!
Someone put it in the fridge!
Full of fish!
I just saw a tick!

Where is Mommy?
Why she must have left early!
My orange porridge I can't reach,
How am I supposed to eat?

Oh, dearie,
Don't you worry;
Though I'm a shorty,
I'll get you in a minute.

IKEA stool ready,
Gripping gloves steady;
On the count of 1, 2, 3!
My bowl... All I see is... What? Empty!

It should be that someone,
Had my orange porridge and run;
The spoon is only one,
This someone wouldn't be far.

I took my pretty blue bowl,
Filled it with water cold;
Finger circled it in a row,
I found the answer to my sorrow!

Oh, how could you ate it all!
You just wait for my call;
Would you be in the mall?
If only you aren't that tall!

I'm checking my Christmas sock,
Oh bummer, there's a lock!
"Not till 25th, wait for a-tick-a-tock,"
Santa got hungry reaching my block!

My orange porridge in your tummy,
It must had been very yummy;
I wish you a pleasant journey,
Kiss Rudolph's Red Nose for me.

The Gift of Gratefulness

The Gift of Gratefulness
Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 17th October 2014, Friday, 11:48 a.m.-12:23 p.m., watching The Ellen DeGeneres Show XII on Channel 5

Dear Ching Yee,
Thank you for naming;
More of remembering,
I shall write based on my ability,
It's a homework I shall fulfill this morning.

Many things came to mind,
I wonder which to unwind;
The first I thank The Lord Most High,
Without Him, I would've died.

Words filled my head,
Yet I don't know what to say;
If all that I wished to convey,
That can't be done in a day.

Next I'd like to thank my parents,
For showing me the beauty of Earth;
Giving me a life that's worth,
Guiding me through crossroads and junctions.

Not forgetting my brother and relatives,
Who are also like my adjectives;
Each of us with smiles and tears,
The record is the reunion years.

A shout out to my sisters,
You know who you are;
The miles won't separate us,
You're precious to me like a shining star.

My gained and lost friends,
We're all universal threads;
Fate, chemistry, compatibility, and body language at their bests,
Wearing the friendship shirt if it's a yes,
Then, things will start to be aware,
People will begin to care;
Feelings from being kept to shared,
All of these create memories a stack,
More or less, there won't be a lack,
They'll matter if we're still in contact;
What's important is the heart to protect,
If I ignore you, it'd mean nothing is left to be said,
But if you did come back,
I'd think twice instead;
I trust God's timeframe,
He knows I'm not into temporary game and flame.

I'm a girl of sweets and treats,
I'm a girl of behind the scenes;
I don't mind poor and famine,
I know I struggled to be where I'm in.

"I Need You" by LeAnn Rimes,
I'm also a girl of rhymes;
This is the song I meant to sing,
And this is a gift of gratefulness to you sincerely from me.

A Heart Next to Mine

A Heart Next to Mine
Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 15th September 2014, Monday, 8:00 p.m.-8:27 p.m., laying on my bed in my cousin's room, specially dedicated to Anna-Maria Champalbert, the most beautiful soul

The moment I heard your name,
Your presence a gorgeous flame;
As a modest persona you came,
Our first meeting I had to frame.

It would be different,
If I wasn't;
Working through matters,
A workplace does wonders.

I appreciate our chat,
After my dinner;
You were still there,
You said to me,
"I've met the most beautiful person in Capella,"
I replied, "You're more beautiful, Anna-Maria,"
I thank God for yesterday,
We finally met not via email.

We live and lead simple lives,
We know what's behind beehives;
We work hard, not once, not twice but thrice,
All just because of a bowl of rice,
Whatever we go through, there's the beauty that lies,
We just need to open up our eyes;
Not the physical but within the heart that flies,
Across the pacific of miles and miles.

Your soul gracefully would shine,
You're beautiful and sweetly kind;
You're a joy that one would find,
You've a heart next to mine.

The hugs and kisses you gave,
They continued as we paved;
I'm so sorry for no dinner today,
My dear love, we shall meet again.

That I Can't Sleep

That I Can't Sleep
Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 1st September 2014, Monday, 1:23 a.m.-2:34 a.m., in my cousin's room just after a slow and warm shower

Last night was another dream,
It was of wood, wind, and beam;
Ignored the walls,
There were we,
Just beside the stream,
The lights were practically dim;
Waitresses to serve and to deem,
A restaurant of fruit and royalty,
So close to me as it was British,
I would fail if it was Irish;
Yet I was too tired to even eat,
I was glad we shared and finished it,
It was a great chat,
With too many similarities indeed;
It was hard for me to express reality,
Whatever the universe hinted me,
There were topics related to it,
He was even more talkative than me;
All I could do was to stare at him,
Looking at his beautiful eyes,
The moment he smiled,
I could just show fragile;
Why should I lie?
That was what I felt inside,
I've lost in his sight,
I'm lost in his sight;
In between the music and light,
Both didn't compromise,
How are you there on the other side?
Can you sleep tonight?
That cheek kiss was my resign,
That hug to you was my benign,
I had given it all up last night,
Acceptance of what's on your mind;
You're far too kind,
You bought what I wouldn't buy,
Especially not for me,
My brand knowledge isn't deep;
Even for a drink I'd think twice to sip,
Not worth it for hard earned money,
Nevertheless I need to enjoy it,
Life won't wait, will it?
I only purchased things necessary,
Thank you for making me smile,
Thank you for making me laugh,
Everything was so worthwhile;
Last night was a "The End" tile,
No more memories a pile a pile,
Your treat I took it like I was a child,
It would only be once in your file;
A promise I made of my own missile,
I might suffer but it wasn't your mile,
I apologized but there was no why,
At least I had given it a try;
That was all the bullet that I applied,
Shooting myself and remaining tight,
Darling Angel is now taking flight,
A free bird as I switched off the light;
You won't hear from me,
That's how things should be,
We never encountered calling,
Good enough for our bodies;
Take care there and live healthy,
I'm now turning sleepy,
I really have to pen off this,
Doing what my body is requesting;
Yesterday was a nonstop walking,
I must complete first this poetry,
Last night was the end of beginning,
We are from two worlds realistically;
Can no longer go on like this,
Underwent all like in a fantasy,
Thank you for accepting me,
It's my heart now that can't sleep;
I shall breathe the breeze in easy,
So that without you it'll still be cosy.

My Guardian Angel

My Guardian Angel
Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 25th August 2014, Monday, 9:58 a.m.-10:27 a.m., in my cousin's room

You were there,
You were there;
All along,
And that could never go wrong.

Last night,
A friend of mine;
Unwind time,
The past is also life,
What we had inside,
Our names thus collide;
Yours that I abide,
More than an apple to the eye,
I keep it by my side,
I was almost blind;
I didn't remember much of that time,
It was you that showed up in white,
She said that you weren't with a tie,
She was certainly right;
How did I miss that sight?
I was black and you white that night.

What is reality playing?
Scene after scene after scene?
What is God telling?
Story after story after story?

A wiseman yesterday said to me,
"It's never your timing,"
We are so close to him,
What does this bond clearly mean?

Come to think of it,
Bit by bit;
Wherever of my being,
Any place just name it,
As common as that can be,
We never missed to see;
A Guardian Angel to be,
And today you're One to me.

No matter how far and how slow,
We still met and just gave it a go;
Ignoring the gist of "I don't know,"
Facing fear and believing tomorrow,
We have felt the warmth and cold,
In front of you I was so bold;
The firmness and security you hold,
We let nature flow and freely spoke.

We never ran out of topics,
The chemistry instantly clicks;
Ended with touches of grins,
Started with what we call bliss.

You were there,
You were there;
All along,
And that could never go wrong.

Everything's Broken

Everything's Broken
Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 24th August 2014, 12:26 a.m.-1:15 a.m., in my cousin's room and about to go to bed after work from 11:30 a.m.

It was your dream,
You came to me;
Like a stream,
Clear in beam,
The pairing,
The intimacy;
The setting,
The fantasy.

The high ceiling,
The pure bedding;
The spacious building,
The sensual feeling,
The souls kissing,
The lips syncing;
The back adoring,
The reality is nothing.

As beautiful as everything was,
The fact that it has passed;
Temporary and it's gone to rust,
The truth that lust won't last,
It all happened too fast,
I felt that I was just a cast;
My part has now turned to dust,
It's so easy for you to just adjust,
No longer as tasty as a pizza's crust,
Sweet to bitter in a manner vast;
If only there's a song for both hearts,
A hymn, a melody, or fate guards,
It's always been chasing cars,
It's always been a pause and laughs;
It's always been applause and ups,
A touch, a smile, and lots of hugs.

How different are you?
Were you being true?
Why do I still feel blue?
Yes, you told me through,
No way there'll be a glue,
It's too loose and to lose;
I didn't compete yet I lose,
I didn't see it coming,
I wasn't prepared of winning,
There wasn't any victory;
We weren't even battling,
It was just mere spontaneity,
A mixture of love and anxiety,
Being in a dogmatic society;
Such situation condemned to feet,
What was with the first time meet?

I'm too tired to count,
Even if I call you aloud;
Your ears are too proud,
Can't hear my tiny sound,
You've her all around,
Please forget my pound;
We went out of bound,
The time ticked its round,
Could this be lost and found?
Electrifying chemistry all around?
The owner played well in the town,
It's nice looking high but all to down.

The attracting,
The affecting;
The reasoning,
The caring,
The suffering,
The similarity;
The wondering,
The worrying,
The rushing,
The silencing;
The vacancy,
The being,
This short story,
This sort of longing;
It was your dream,
You came to me.

May I Ask You This?

May I Ask You This?
Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 3rd August 2014, Sunday, 12:47 p.m.-13:30 p.m., in MRT heading toward Dhoby Ghout to be exchanged toward Harbourfront for work, just a sudden turmoil in mind

Dear Roger, may I ask you this?
Will you hold my hand and give me bliss?
Why did you come back to me?
Could it be just temporary?
You said that you miss me,
And you're back for love and friendship;
Did you tell the same to others?
Am I just one of your partners?
Let me tell you that I'm not a material,
I'm also not a collection;
Please don't take me as an edition,
I'm a human with more than an emotion and affection,
Let the past 4 months go to Heaven,
Do you want to start all over?
I've forgotten the sober,
Come to think of it I do miss our special moment,
I even thought of spending time with you,
I started learning on making cheese fondue;
But it seems like everything's still new,
Now you're telling me you'll have a move view,
Closer to me though I've no curfew,
Should I meet up with you?
Texts only don't mean your words are true,
You could've called and given me a better clue,
No, we can't if you're just playing through,
Do you see the Sun, Stars, and Sky, when I'm with you?
Because if you only want to make love,
I'm sorry that you've found the wrong girl.

The Best IRD Ever

The Best IRD Ever
Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 10th July 2014, Thursday, 11:24 a.m.-12:27 a.m., in 903 bus heading to Woodlands MRT and in MRT heading for workplace in Capella Singapore, Sentosa, Specially dedicated to my cool IRD colleagues that I cherish a lot, a lot

Dear Uncle Matthew,
Caring as a father hugging you;
Dear Ben,
The name as gentle as the man,
Dear Joey,
His smiles as sweet as candy;
Dear Aunty Helen,
The undeniable beauty of a mother,
Dear Uncle Devan,
His presence makes life way better;
Dear Ryan,
His strength comparable to a lion.

You are the best IRD ever,
I shall remember you forever;
You work so hard yet clever,
You know what's first and later,
Everyday seeing cheese platter,
You are all hearts of a team player;
Thank you for having me together,
Although I'm just a tiny fresher,
I feel so home with cheerful chatter,
Handling forms, food, cards, water;
Whenever I enter I'm always happier,
Keep the joy up a day a liter higher!
