A Meal Gone Wrong

A Meal Gone Wrong: Written Originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, Author of "Of Roses and Gerberas"

A not-so-sunny afternoon,
There goes a platoon;
Seeking for food,
Around the industrial-hood.

A group of men,
Just three, not ten;
Ordered in a gang,
Gobbled and ran.

I am puzzled,
Of so many muscles;
The leftovers are troubled,
To some, they are a double.

The society today,
Be it as they may;
When teeth decay,
Will you let them stay?

Scarcity of food is rising,
While you are enjoying;
People are starving, dying,
And animals non-excluding.

Singapore is a clean country,
Celebrated the glorious SG50;
Then, what behaviour is this?
What if it is a an occasion, a feast?

Absorb the nutrients,
While you can;
Mother Nature is fierce,
Weapon mightier than fang.

Before I end,
I humbly extend;
Please understand,
Make a better land.

News are everywhere,
Food wastage, shortage;
Encouraging returning trays,
"So sweet" meant to praise?

Food is sweet enough,
Because of it;
We are tough,
Gratitude on God's blessing.

As an entity,
The money invested in;
Everyday chewing,
Brains developing.

I am a foreigner,
I love this nation;
Thinking of this notion,
I just can't disappear.

Please hear my voice,
Little but with noise;
Please do not waste,
Return tray, don't hesitate.

Thank you so much,
Directly from my heart;
Remember to feed the lack,
Add deeds to your own rack.
