A Ride To Romance
Music: Andy Siti
Guitarist: Christina Wang
Lyric: Jennifer Soh

Candlelight,
Sparkling bright;
I’m at your sight,
Your eyes blink in delight.

Don’t say our love isn’t right,
We fell in love because of that kite;
Don’t you worry didn’t give me a fright,
Glad you remembered I was wearing white.

Chorus:
Life is like a roller coaster,
Up and down it goes;
But our love changed it so much sweeter,
I jump with joy up to my toes.

Sitting at this table,
We hold each other’s hands;
Enjoying this – a ride to romance.

North, South, East, and West,
You are beyond compare;
With you I will dance,
I don’t mind if people stare.

Repeat Chorus

"Dalam Dakapanmu" by Andy Siti and Arja Lee

An original composition by Andy Siti from my original poem, "Dalam Dakapanmu".

Dalam Dakapanmu (ORI) by Andy Siti & Arja Lee
Music: Andy Siti , Lyric: Jennifer Soh Li Wen

Capo 5th Fret

Intro: C Em Am F

Andy:
Verse 1:
C Em Am F D G D G

Dikala senja indah permata,
Langit biru disinari mentari;
Kurasa bahagia dikau di sisi,
Walau hidup penuh sandiwara.

Arja:

Kuberada dalam dakapanmu,
Kumengenepikan waktu;
Kudengar degupan jantungmu,
Sambil menghirup udara Sabtu.

Andy:

Chorus:
CEm Am D G Em Am Dm G
CEm Am F G

Sayangku,
Memori kita semanis madu;
Sejak daku mengenalimu,
Akanku simpan dalam kalbuku,

Arja:

Membawa ke mana saja kutuju,
Kusenantiasa diingati;

Arja dan Andy:

Janji-janjimu itu,
Tuhan menjadi saksi.

Andy:
CEm Am D G Em Am Dm G
CEm Am F G

Kurela menemani,
Jalan hidupmu;

Arja:
Sehidup semati,
Tanganku di genggamanmu,

Andy:
Kehangatanmu membalut tubuhku,

Arja:
Muncul tiap kali kumula beradu.

Repeat Chorus (2x)

One Hand, One Heart

One Hand, One Heart: Written Originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 22nd March 2012, Thursday, 11:02 p.m.-11:05 p.m.-Break-23rd March 2012, Friday, 7:53 a.m.-8:18 a.m., Penang, Malaysia.

One Hand,
Awakens the shamisen;
Picks up the sand,
Lives in the world of men.

One Heart,
Can never be apart;
The soul speaks art,
Never stops once it has a start.

Young men,
Take My Hand;
Try to understand,
From where you stand.

Young bark,
Get out from the dark;
Find a mark,
Build yourself an ark.

Fair to tanned,
It is all the same;
Forget about the Apartheid,
Each person does have a name.

Languages may seem hard,
If you have not tried;
Thank you is kamsahamnida,
Bitte schön, one would have replied.

Old and young,
Regardless of whom you are;
One hand, one heart,
Searching for the star,
Singing the unsung,
Relatives we become;
Sharing the air and ground,
I’m the Only One that heals your hands,
I’m the Salvation that gives you breaths,
Behold of My Words of the beginning and end;
For as long as you stay united,
I will surely be there.

A Shivering Cold Shiver

A Shivering Cold Shiver

A place I had to go,
By the name of TESCO;
The lady counter said I look mixed,
Of both Malay and Chinese.

You are that Unique

You are that Unique: Written Originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 22nd March 2012, Thursday, 12:29 a.m.-Break-2:05 a.m.-2:37 a.m. (Plus some extra time to edit), In my middle room, University Heights, Penang, Specially Dedicated to my Awesome, Loving, and Caring Neighbour then Brother, Peter Soh Weng Khai, God sent you to my life, my Di Di.

Waited outside of the School,
Showed me the patient you;
Last night’s dinner made us full,
At Mizi Bistro’s recommended by you.

We arrived at 6:42 p.m.,
After my Screen Production class;
But I was late in the end,
He sat at the bench to let the time pass.

My Di Di,
The one who wore green;
The one who grinned,
When he saw me.

The New World Park,
At Jalan (Street) Chulia;
As big as an ark,
Poised with dignity of the Dahlia and Magnolia.

We talked about Mommy and Daddy,
We miss them so dearly;
Their love is as sweet as candy,
They complete each other completely.

We also shared on culture,
Because once we’re mature;
We appreciate nature,
We create overture.

The number of kebaya he has,
22 to be exact;
Sold the orange 1 to his friend,
He’s in fact a 22 year-old lad.

We ordered two set meals,
RM50+RM3 are such hot deals!
He just knows where to go upon suggestion,
Since I wanted something Western.

Done at 8:44 p.m. according to the receipt,
We ordered many;
First a Peach Tea and a Lemon Tea,
Next 5 types of mushrooms in the soup of their original recipe.

Main courses are trendy,
He ordered Chicken Normandy;
I chose Chicken Piccatta,
Before that we had bread and butter.

Boy, once you’re a Master,
It’s also about graduate faster;
Be a person better,
Be a go-getter.

It’s good to be different,
You’re that unique;
Don’t forget the Science’s inference,
Any knowledge will not make you weak.

Ice-cream was the best,
A free-flow fest;
There were yam, strawberry, corn, chocolate, vanilla, and rasp,
We took twice and ate with gasp.

We then took a walk around,
An attempt for digestion;
With bloated stomachs we saw a Nyonya restaurant,
An interesting place we found!

We laughed out so loud,
While looking at the menu;
With the “kay” and the “ark” all spelled out,
We’d like to come with kebaya and sanggul.

We inserted the parking ticket,
Paid RM2.50 and left at 9:11 p.m.;
September 11 is hard to forget,
But our memory reflects of who I am.

Pictures taken before that,
Hair might be a mess but who cares?
2 hours and 29 minutes we were there,
So much caring when each shares.

My brother,
Be a fighter;
I’ll hug you tighter,
Honor your father and mother.

I said I wanted to write a short poem,
I’m a failure;
I can’t reduce the length any lower,
There’re lots to say about the uniquely you, my dear.

Prepare for your Postgraduate journey,
Start by watching Yasmin;
Then to Ah Niu and Namewee,
Write on the Baba and Nyonya cultures with glee.

Cheers to the Soh family,
I’ll meet you early in the morning;
Bunga telang we shall see,
It’s now time to sleep.

Death Almost Greeted Me Today

Death Almost Greeted Me Today
Written Originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 20th March 2012, Tuesday, 5:33 p.m.-5:36 p.m.

Death almost greeted me alive,
When a motor speedily passed my way;
Death almost killed me to-die,
That’s the Australian slang of today.

Apocalypse Bamboo

Apocalypse Bamboo
Written Originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 13th March 2012, Tuesday, 9:15 p.m.-9:35 p.m. (Plus Some Extra Time in the Morning), In My Middle Room, University Heights

Rustling wind,
Shatters my grin;
Bamboo green,
A touch on my lips,
A cut from within,
To what I’ve seen;
I’m suffering,
My soul sings,
My alarm rings,
My tongue tastes mint;
Voices hustling,
Wind keeps on rushing,
Time keeps on pushing,
I’m hurting;
Is anyone listening?
How strong is your hearing?
I’m born with this,
It could be bliss;
If you see me not amiss,
You spot me when feasting,
Who are you to do that talking?
God loves me for me;
He gave me a bamboo to live,
Clean your saliva and leave,
I’ve had enough of it,
Be what you want to be;
Go and create your story,
While I’ve my history,
Too bad you’re not in it,
You just want beauty;
That I can’t give,
You see me as calamity,
You judged me so deep,
Yes, I’m a cleft-lipped;
And I don’t mind about it,
To you it’s an apocalypse bamboo,
To me it’s like a dream come true,
That I’ve found you;
Whom your eyes and mind don’t appreciate value,
And I shall bring my treble clef to where I don’t see you.

Fallen in love with you.

Dirimu Sekuntum Mawar

Dirimu Sekuntum Mawar: Ilham Karya Asli Ciptaan Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 4 Mac 2012, Ahad, 5:10 petang-5:34 petang, 12 Mac 2012, Isnin, 4:01 petang-4:02 petang, Di bilik tengah, University Heights

Sekuntum mawar,
Seikhlas penawar;
Sedetik bertentang mata,
Seribu bicara.

Sampaiku tidak terkata,
Kilauan tawamu;
Kaulah melodi cinta,
Ketika bersamamu.

Rembulan memancarkan seni,
Masa tiba-tiba terhenti;
Kupercaya kau cinta,
Jelmaan berkelipan di mata.

Kau wanita,
Kau permata;
Kedua-dua berlian bernilai,
Namun dirimu tidak ternilai.

Irama sakti,
Menemukan kita;
Suatu hari,
Abadi selamanya.

Kewujudan dirimu,
Dalam hidupku;
Cahaya tangisku,
Kebahagiaan kasihku.

Dirimu semerah penawar,
Dirimu sekuntum mawar;
Tiada yang kedua,
Dikaulah yang kucinta.

Help and Share

Help and Share: Written Originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 4th March 2012, Sunday, 9:45 a.m.-10:08 a.m., In Andy’s Room

My tummy says, “Help!”
Would you share?
Do you care?
Did you feel what I felt?

Sitting beside you,
Staring at you;
The airplane flew,
The amount you chew.

Singing,
Growling;
My tummy,
I want Mommy.

The guy beside me,
Gulping selfishly;
He knows I’m hungry,
He doesn’t show any worry.

Society,
So much of cruelty;
I’m not asking for sympathy,
I don’t need your empathy.

Mister,
Finished his burger;
It’ll make him larger,
It’ll make him die faster.

I’m no difference,
My tummy lacks a conference;
No delegations,
No visitors.

I’ll, too die,
In hunger;
My body turns weaker,
Bony skeleton doesn’t lie.

How much can one eat?
Look, there’s a seat!
Can I fit in?
A couple is talking.

I hopped in,
“Help and share?”
“Come on in!”
Joyfully they said.

Words of laughter,
Don’t take them for granted;
They must be uttered,
Sit down and thank them later.

Our mouths,
It isn’t just for food;
Too much input isn’t good,
You shape your own house.

My tummy says, “Glad!”
They would share;
They do care,
Orphan no longer I am.

The couple,
Went to see my Principal;
Humble people,
My life is now worth a double.

Miracles do happen,
Caring to the homeless;
You’re also human,
Don’t think you’re useless.
