Life is Full of Choices

Life is Full of Choices

Originally Written by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 17/11/2005, Thursday, 11:41p.m.

When I was young,

I used to be very ambitious;

But now when I’m done,

I begin to be very anxious.

I thought I could be everything,

Anything under the sun;

Finally I knew something,

That brought me to run.

I’m just a human,

Which means I’m not perfect;

What I did were so common,

And made nothing good to select.

Everyone has their own dreams,

It’s not as easy as it seems;

Together we fight for it,

In our strength and ability.

As we grow up,

We realise that life is full of choices;

The point of views are sharp,

Came from many faces.

So who are we actually?

What made us individually?

Where is our personality?

Looks like questions are haunting us spiritually.

Never say never,

It’s now and forever;

It’s time to show our true selves,

And make all hearts melt.

It’s not too late,

To know yourself;

And let’s not manipulate,

Among ourselves.

Do you believe in fate?

Or even destiny?

Come on be brave and don’t regret,

‘Cause life has to be happy.

Our Universe

Our Universe

This song is dedicated to all out there,

For this is what I want to share;

Don’t just give me a stare,

Just listen to me,

For once I beg,

‘Cause all I want from you is to understand;

All that I have to say next,

And give me a,”Hell yeah!”

It’s nothing bad actually,

I just want you to throw away your vanity;

And search for your own speciality,

From there you’ll learn how to speak.

Attention to all teenage girls,

What’s with diamonds and pearls?

Give your heads a little scratch,

Encounter your very own match,

Never fall into that catch,

That may lead you to the lion’s den.

Attention to all teenage guys,

What’s with all the lies?

There’s nothing left to buy,

Just because you are shy,

But you must always reply,

And never cross the line;

Especially when there’s a fight.

Attention to all Mommas and Papas,

Listen to your child;

So that they will not go wild,

Love them with comfort and mild,

‘Cause you’ll never know what’s in their mind,

Give them some time to shine;

Grabbing every chance they have,

Knowing what they are good at,

And show that you supported them.

To all the people whoever and wherever you are,

Teachers, friends, relatives, or even a beggar;

Most important thing is to be yourselves,

And tell the truth precisely,

Put your families first,

Because this is our universe;

Be brave to be different,

Who cares about skin colour?

‘Cause remember beauty is only skin deep.

Carry Me

Carry Me

Written Originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 14/11/2005, Monday, 6:51p.m.

Sunset is leaving me behind,

It’s me I gotta find;

Hoping that I won’t be blind,

To get what’s mine,

Being too kind,

That’s not the way;

I tried everything,

It isn’t the same,

Going to that special place,

I hope to see something;

But when the time’s not right,

And I didn’t get the sight,

I was left aside,

And that’s the reason I cried.

Pressure is sticking on me,

How could I get rid of it?

I need some sense of security,

What’s left to be?

Admiring people who already succeed,

While I’m lost in my own eternity;

Wanna meet them with humanity,

When would I have such opportunity?

Different people have different taste,

Unable to meet him is such a waste;

I dreamnt of him on Saturday night instead,

“I like you,” that’s what he said,

I asked him to repeat and that gave me a shake,

Tomorrow morning I began to pray;

Hoping to behold him that very day,

He’s a superstar that’s what I’d say,

Can I make this feeling forever stay?

I can’t deny that I have fallen in love with him,

With good looks and splendid personality;

Hope that he has the same dream as me,

No matter how far we are,

One day we will meet,

And he would carry me;

‘Cause nothing’s gonna change my love for him,

Never had a chance to confess to him,

Not even in my sleep,

Maybe I’m too naïve.

Blue Sands

Blue Sands

Written Originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 08/11/2005, Tuesday, 6:20p.m.

It’s late at night,

But you are not in my sight;

Baby I don’t know why,

You left me aside,

And I don’t want you back.

Don’t get me wrong,

I had you in my mind;

But I just had to let you go,

Because my heart is broken inside,

And baby I don’t wanna miss our times.

So I walk on the blue sands,

Thinking about the past;

Oh how silly I am,

Everything was a mess,

When I suspect,

You had another girlfriend;

And for once,

I was correct.

On the sands,

I walk with pride;

Looking at my hands,

I raise them up high,

Knowing that I’m free,

Standing out of your territory;

I know I’ll meet another guy,

On you I won’t rely.

So this is how the story goes,

Painful love story of you and me;

You are full of ego,

Oh how hard it has been,

Having walls between us,

You always get up on my nerves;

I couldn’t breathe,

Especially when I’m with you.

So this is our last goodbye,

Trust me I’ll never be shy;

Nor will I look behind,

I just can’t wait,

For the great things prepared for me ahead.

What Have You Done

What Have You Done?

Written Originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 05/11/2005, 8:32p.m., Saturday.

Hey boy,

What you gonna do?

Being like a fool,

Don’t you dare to tell me to be cool.

You gotta be,

A somebody;

In my fantasy,

Don’t you ever get me?

My friends told me,

That you are not worth it;

But I chose not to believe,

Until one day,

I saw you there,

Kissing her like that;

Giving me a dare,

Acting like you just don’t care,

Oh boy,

What have you done?

You are giving me lots of pressure,

For me being with you is not for leisure;

Showering me with lots of questions,

Making my head a lot more heavier.

Don’t you want me anymore?

Since I met you;

It was 1984,

What else could you ask for?

Have you changed your mind?

Baby I know you are mine;

But you know I can’t lie,

Living without you,

I would rather die.

I can’t breathe,

Because you are making me sick;

I’m the one who got picked,

And also got kicked,

What don’t you appreciate,

All the things I did for you;

Treating me like you should,

And telling me, “I miss you.”

Black Shadow

Black Shadow

Written Originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 05/11/2005, 8:07p.m., Saturday.

What a bright day today,

Seeing people walking on the street;

Acting like they just don’t care,

It’s not like anybody’s having any fair,

What they did,

They would just give me a stare;

Whenever I fix my hair.

Wherever I go,

I see something following me;

But to me,

There’s nothing to show,

I guess it’ll just flow.

When I turned back,

I see nothing;

Except for the road that I left,

What was that thing?

That kept echoing me,

I felt the rush of adrenalin;

Running all over my body,

But all I see was empty.

It was like magic,

So many questions why;

To me it’s so tragic,

Don’t know what’s gonna happen next,

People around told me to relax,

When they saw;

Something dropped on the floor,

Which I called it my sweat.

I’m a girl,

Of course I’m scared;

It’s not that I wanna give it a twirl,

But I don’t know where would I land,

Giving my black hair a little curl,

I finally see my hand;

Turning and turning,

The black shadow kept following,

It wasn’t any bad guy or something,

It was me all along;

How could I get so wrong,

Listening to my own song,

It only happens during daytime,

When I could enjoy my lime;

Just like the others,

We are peoples,

Knowing that I’ll be just fine,

How could I be so blind?

Thinking Of You

Thinking Of You

Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 17/10/2005, Monday, 6:55p.m.

As I lay my back,

Upon the lazy chair;

There is nothing that I lack,

Why is there so much to bear?

My heart suddenly dropped,

When I had you in my mind;

Couldn’t believe that’s it’s real,

Why is love so blind?

It has been months,

I hadn’t got over you, had I?

My heart was beating fast,

For you are the apple of my eye.

For once,

I started thinking deeply;

Really felt like asking,

“Have you ever thought of me lately?”

I’m so afraid of your answer,

As I do not wanna take the risk;

That’s why I didn’t ask,

‘Coz I didn’t know where to start.

Do you know that I’m suffering in pain?

Right here, right now;

Do you even know where I am standing?

Let me guess,

You would just leave in vain.

Every night,

Before I fell into my deep sleep;

I would take your photo,

And kiss it many times,

For I want to be your honey,

But you just won’t let me;

Fine, I’m over with it,

No, wait, I lied,

I can’t do it,

‘Coz I’m still thinking of you;

To me,

You are just too sweet and sexy,

How could I resist such a thing?

Hoping that you would be here with me;

Please come back to me,

Trust me,

This time is for real;

Darling, I need you still.
