When I Call You Home

When I Call You Home
Written Originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 12th January 2012, Thursday, 10:52 a.m.-11:52 a.m., In My Middle Room, University Heights, Specially Dedicated to My Appreciative Neighbour, Peter Soh Weng Khai.

Time,
Runs a mime;
Precious as dime,
Now is prime.

This first semester,
Here in USM;
Started last September,
Now it is coming to an end,
How busy I am,
Only went back twice a sem;
The hour-glass flows its sand,
I miss my home,
Deeply my heart sank.

Home,
Why are you home?
You give me hope,
You make me not alone,
Home,
What makes you home?
You do not look like Rome,
But you are as strong and tough as chrome.

This Chinese New Year,
I cannot hesitate to go home;
This Dragon Year,
I carry my green kebaya home.

This semester,
There is so much to challenge;
It makes me bolder,
In and out I am strengthened.

At home in one trip,
Then another trip;
I gained a relationship,
I lost a friendship.

People come and go,
Life goes on;
You reap what you sow,
Let the days of bygone be bygone.

For my Valentine,
I will make it mine;
A new kebaya with a shine,
Especially for my dearest so fine.

My tradition is my obligation,
My family is my perfection;
My home is my resuscitation,
My dearest is my affection.

The reunion dinner,
This Chinese New Year;
The Water Dragon Year,
Mom is the winner,
Dad is the breadwinner,
Sister is the thinker;
I know I will not get thinner.

I will make sure I am fit,
For my next kebaya;
Bak gua I will still eat,
I simply love my Raya.

I am aiming for white,
The colour for my kebaya biku;
With the scallop (ombak) neckline so bright,
The sleeves are as beautiful and smooth as haiku.

For the first day of the Chinese New Year,
My red samfoo is already waiting for me;
Prosperity I shall bring specially for my family,
I humbly kneel down to pang teh to my parents for a good year.

I thank God for creating the special me,
The appreciating tradition me;
The more I age,
The more I appreciate,
My beautiful heritage,
My performances on stage;
My kebaya collection will not be caged,
For none is meant to be a forgotten vintage.

I cannot hesitate to go home,
I miss my beautiful family;
I shall start preparing and packing,
I shall look as good as gold.

My reunion with my family,
It means so much to me;
I do not have to be a hypocrite,
I just eat what I want to eat.

There must be a reason why you are home,
It is when I call you home;
I know you are my own,
And look how much you have grown!

What Have You Done

What Have You Done?

Written Originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 05/11/2005, 8:32p.m., Saturday.

Hey boy,

What you gonna do?

Being like a fool,

Don’t you dare to tell me to be cool.

You gotta be,

A somebody;

In my fantasy,

Don’t you ever get me?

My friends told me,

That you are not worth it;

But I chose not to believe,

Until one day,

I saw you there,

Kissing her like that;

Giving me a dare,

Acting like you just don’t care,

Oh boy,

What have you done?

You are giving me lots of pressure,

For me being with you is not for leisure;

Showering me with lots of questions,

Making my head a lot more heavier.

Don’t you want me anymore?

Since I met you;

It was 1984,

What else could you ask for?

Have you changed your mind?

Baby I know you are mine;

But you know I can’t lie,

Living without you,

I would rather die.

I can’t breathe,

Because you are making me sick;

I’m the one who got picked,

And also got kicked,

What don’t you appreciate,

All the things I did for you;

Treating me like you should,

And telling me, “I miss you.”

Thinking Of You

Thinking Of You

Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 17/10/2005, Monday, 6:55p.m.

As I lay my back,

Upon the lazy chair;

There is nothing that I lack,

Why is there so much to bear?

My heart suddenly dropped,

When I had you in my mind;

Couldn’t believe that’s it’s real,

Why is love so blind?

It has been months,

I hadn’t got over you, had I?

My heart was beating fast,

For you are the apple of my eye.

For once,

I started thinking deeply;

Really felt like asking,

“Have you ever thought of me lately?”

I’m so afraid of your answer,

As I do not wanna take the risk;

That’s why I didn’t ask,

‘Coz I didn’t know where to start.

Do you know that I’m suffering in pain?

Right here, right now;

Do you even know where I am standing?

Let me guess,

You would just leave in vain.

Every night,

Before I fell into my deep sleep;

I would take your photo,

And kiss it many times,

For I want to be your honey,

But you just won’t let me;

Fine, I’m over with it,

No, wait, I lied,

I can’t do it,

‘Coz I’m still thinking of you;

To me,

You are just too sweet and sexy,

How could I resist such a thing?

Hoping that you would be here with me;

Please come back to me,

Trust me,

This time is for real;

Darling, I need you still.

Lost In Your Embrace

By Jennifer Soh Li Wen, Tuesday, 04/10/2005, 2.40p.m.

Today,
I’m a loser;
Tomorrow,
I’m a failure,
The day after tomorrow?
I’m not sure;
But having you around,
Is sure to give me pleasure.

I missed you,
I thought of you;
It doesn’t even matter,
What day is tomorrow,
With you by my side,
Everyday is delight;
Through day and night,
You’ll always be my light.

Now,
I’m so lonely;
I’m so hurt,
No one understands me the way you do,
My source of comfort,
Is only my family;
Where have you been, my love, my darling?
Why left me hanging,
Among those invisible walls.

My friends did not support me,
Neither did my fellow teachers;
Everything just passed,
Like hi-bye instead,
Who truly sees me,
Deep down in my heart?
I’m suffering,
I’m moaning,
I’m grieving,
‘Cause I’m so lost in your embrace;
That I can’t even put a smile on my face,
Fine!
Let me,
Let me go;
I’ll fine my ownself,
And need none of your help!

Love is not just a Feeling, it is an Action

Written Originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 06/07/2005, Wednesday, 1:39a.m.

Whisper to me,
Right into my ears;
Look deep into my eyes,
What do you see?
Treasure my voice;
What do you hear?
Be honest and tell me;
What do you fear?

What is the meaning of Love?
If you do not know how to apply It;
Not even knowing the definition,
How are you able to explain It to our next generation?

Beauty is in the Eyes of the Beholder,
Strange things happen when you are in Love;
Be thankful to your Mother,
Pure in Heart as Dove sent from Above.

Romantic words comfort me,
Beautiful roses warmth this Heart of mine;
If you only stood there quietly,
What do you expect me to find?

Little children go out to play,
They learn something new each time they fall;
If you have no words to say,
Why bother to call?

Everyone wants a luxurious Life,
Every girl wishes for a Happy Family;
I see you peeping from side to side,
Just be brave;
Do not be silly.

What is it called to be Guys,
When you yourself does not show it;
Giving me a bunch of Lies,
When will I ever get to sit?

As a summary,
Stepping into conclusion;
Love is not just a Feeling,
Honey, it is an Action.

Strange Feeling

I sat on the chair,
I approached my IC;
I saw my friend,
And chatted with him.
It went normally,
Until one time;
This made me scared and curious,
His words revealed to me.
It might be good,
It might be bad;
But one thing I know,
Guys had never said that to me before.
I knew that in my age,
All these are normal;
It is not wrong,
And I am happy for it.
As I read his words,
He seemed so serious;
I am worried for another friend,
And now I have to concentrate for my studies.
