The Chef and the Doctor

The Chef and the Doctor
Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 9th June 2013, Sunday, 7:39 a.m.-8:01 a.m., In my own room, Laying on the bed, Specially dedicated to all of the children out there in conjunction of Parents' Day

The Chef and the Doctor,
Both are very noble;
They like helping people,
They like treating people,
One feeds the people,
One heals the people;
They like their eggs scramble,
They each have a duty roster.

The Chef and the Doctor,
Time is just a number;
They do not grumble,
They are very kind people,
They are very humble,
They must not stumble;
They serve for the people,
We need them for survival.

The Chef and the Doctor,
Both have one in common;
Both like white in colour,
They look like each other,
Like a sister and a brother,
They met at the ice cream parlor;
They like the taste of lemon,
Then, they said, "See you later."

The Chef and the Doctor,
They are now friends to one another;
Their uniforms are in pure white,
They are shining bright,
The Chef brings delight,
The Doctor brings light;
Oh, what a sight!
They know not of morning and night.

The Chef and the Doctor,
They like to make things better;
One likes to cook with butter,
One likes to bandage with plaster,
If only I can thank them together,
I promise to grow well and faster;
So that I could be like them,
They are my Mother and Father.

Tommy at Breakfast

Tommy at Breakfast
Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen, 6th June 2013, Thursday, in my room at home, laying on the mattress, it's now 8:42 p.m. and for the first time, I forgotten to time myself from when I started writing and ended it. For this poem, I won't state the end since it doesn't have a beginning. Thank you, all.

"Tommy, Tommy,
Why aren't you eating breakfast?"
"Daddy, Daddy,
I'm thinking and I'll not eat first."

This is a story,
On a boy named Tommy;
He thinks that this country,
Is all year round lazy,
Not that unique,
And not pretty in physique;
He loves his family,
But how he wished elsewhere he lived.

Do I've to pity him?
For thinking like this?
Just let him be,
Knowing that he's lonely.

I've no choice but to write about him,
I dreamt him and he rings my limb;
If I could ever make him believe,
That I'm the only one existing.

Maybe Tommy deserves this,
He does many great things;
He cares others and himself least,
He doesn't mind not having a feast.

How much he thought over breakfast,
Usually people would choose to eat first;
Choose milk or Milo to quench the thirst,
Away they go traveling to their workplaces.

Little Tommy isn't that little,
But he loves to mingle and riddle;
His friends always want a double,
He has been good with any title.

What made Tommy thinks so?
His mind or his soul?
Are we his friends in the know?
Or is there an answer from snow?

I wonder how old is he,
Thinking so much like me;
How I wished not to be,
It scares me to pee.

I'm not a bad person,
I don't change to season;
I do have my own reason,
Do I've to tell you a dozen?

Why should I tell?
If you would only yell?
I did go to Hell,
Why am I still now well?

Back to Tommy,
Boy, you're stormy;
You had me dreamt dirty,
And not to forget a puppy.

How did you know all about it?
The sex, money, study, and puppy?
It was like a marketplace and it,
Thank you for making me happy.

If only I could tell you everything,
You'd not have trusted a thing;
I know I've strong imaginary,
None is actually not scary.

Can I not be Tommy?
I don't want to think;
I want to only blink,
It's okay if I'm ugly.

I need a better tomorrow,
Cut off all of my sorrows;
Shoo away all of the crows,
Make me fly like a sparrow.

The pain is attacking me,
I may meet Tommy early;
Begin to feel very sleepy,
Oh, bring me to my teddy.

My Mommy and Daddy,
I'm so sorry;
You're my dearest family,
But all I've is only me.

"Hello, Tommy,
This is me;
I don't wanna dream,
Can you not make me think?"

Will anyone forgive me?
For the child I've in me;
He's not a somebody,
He just likes melancholy.

Tommy, Tommy,
Once my tortoise;
Did you go to Greece?
Met my favorite player already?

I'll keep his name with me,
He doesn't even know me;
I used to literally admire him,
So much so just on TV screen.

How much have I grown!
Still unable to carry my own;
I would've chosen and flown,
And not feeling so alone.

It's now June,
There goes a year;
He's not my peer,
I'm just his tune.

He has forgotten me,
I know this has to be;
He doesn't care about me,
How dare he said he liked me!

In love and having kids,
They're beyond my needs;
I've seen nightmares today,
Both study time and play.

Oh, Tommy,
Please forgive me;
I'm so sorry,
I don't mean it.

Lord, please guide me,
I don't wanna be silly;
I don't want wrongdoing,
I don't wanna be boring.

What can I do?
I need a living;
I'm breathing,
I still do poo.

Enough of saving, Tommy,
I wanna go for a quick pee;
See you later or slowly;
You should know in not in glee.

I've done my best already,
My life is just a parody;
I'm a clown and a baby,
Will people laugh because I'm funny?

Suddenly, Daddy came interrupting,
"Tommy, Tommy eat your breakfast,
No more waiting,
I don't want this to be a curse."

Tommy is awakened all along,
"Yes, Daddy,
I'll eat;
But I still think,
That this country is lazy."

He lets her sleep,
And again, she met him;
As usual with a kiss greet,
Her new adventure is to begin,
Will it ever end?
Does she have a plan?
Will she enter the lion's den?
Hope not for again and again.

Been In Love

Been In Love
Written originally by Jennifer Soh Li Wen based on a translation from "Pernah Dilamun Cinta", 12th May 2013, Sunday, 5:58 p.m.- 9:22 p.m. (Including editing time), In the hall room at home, Specially dedicated to my lovely friend, Cheng Cheng and her husband for their matrimony <3

Once I heard people say,
"You ought to know to love";
It's true in every way,
Memories as pure as dove.

This story is like a blossom flower,
Two people met and got together;
Although nothing is perfection,
God already has the solution.

No matter how far their distance is,
That could bring sadness and bliss;
They're still on the same land,
Miss Eve his only girlfriend.

Her husband is from Sarawak,
His wife is from Sabah;
Both met at random,
In Shah Alam kingdom.

Mr. Adam fell for her since 1st Sem.,
When she was with her boyfriend;
He waited for her for a year long,
She realized he's not Mr. Wrong.

They were University students,
Same but different courses;
He gazed at her from afar,
She was never alarmed.

And so they were block partners,
But not as close as block mates;
A friendship they can relate,
Her classmate his housemate.

17th January 2009,
They went out as friends;
Just drinks and said hi,
Knowing backgrounds and plans.

Miss Eve told me about him,
My role in story writing;
Mr. Adam is very humble,
A nice guy plus adorable.

1st February 2009,
It was a movie for the first time;
"Sifu dan Tonga" watched,
She was distracted by her heart.

14th February 2009,
Who didn't know it was a Valentine?
A day to appreciate couples,
The day he showed his muscles.

Mr. Adam has never been in love,
However, when watching the film;
Miss Eve felt the nerve,
"He's my man," she murmured.

On that Valentine's Day,
Mr. Adam made her day;
Sent a song "Mungkinkah Terjadi",
By Tam Spider and she knew he wasn't kidding.

In any kind of relationship,
It's best to let time perceive;
God is Almighty toward us,
Do you see a river rushes?

1st March 2009,
They became more than friends;
They went out according to plans,
The technology era not left behind.

A movie, Go-Card, and KFC,
At the Extreme Park, Shah Alam;
A shy guy this Mr. Adam,
A song to express love in February.

This world is actually fair,
Miss Eve loosen her hair;
She messaged him a questionnaire,
Even though they were at each other's rear.

She typed,
I find it right;
"Do you love me?
If yes, please say the 3 words."

Mr. Adam definitely read it,
I understand this feeling;
How deep is the meaning;
Shah Alam, they were in.

Finally he answered,
Via voice and texted;
"I love you," said he,
A couple officially.

Time flies as years passed by,
 Mr. Adam isn't going to lie;
The gap suffocates him,
He has chosen to marry.

Both sides of families,
Are equally supportive;
A traditional engagement,
On 3rd June 2012 a commitment.

If you love a person,
Looks isn't a reason;
Accepting the difference,
Encourage and giving chances.

These two characters,
Keep calling and texting one another;
Countless times,
Just to feel close at hearts.

Life isn't a bed of roses,
Teacher Adam taught Miss Eve;
On family and life circumstances,
He mentioned that family is priority.

Same age and months apart,
It wasn't easy living apart;
It was exhausting and tiring,
Thankful their hearts keep on inspiring.

As how Miss Eve shared with me,
As how I gathered by listening;
Mr. Adam is really a gentleman,
He respects human to human.

Similar hobbies are vital,
In order to create laughter;
Sports are their favorites,
They also enjoy flavors.

Miss Eve and Mr. Adam,
Both aren't my creations;
They're God's miracles,
United under the shade of love.

From calling names to sayang,
From near to miles apart;
From the way I see you two,
From what I hear happiness I knew.

The time will surely come,
For you to adorn the bridal;
Congratulations a word of mouth,
Your household now blooming a petal.

Care not for what others utter,
It's how you feel for each other;
I hope for your loyalty forever,
In love by a touch of heaven sweeter.

Dear all young adults out there,
Marriage will eventually arrive;
Take heart and believe in love,
But remember to dream and be good.

Life's only once,
Live no regrets;
Take time to learn yourself,
Your love is just standing next.

We only can plan,
The Great God decides;
Listen as your heart speaks,
At that moment you've been in love.

Be honest with your feelings,
Don't have to think twice;
For wedding a mutual agreement,
Let's celebrate it together.

Final words from yours truly,
So sorry for not attending;
May you grow old happy,
One day you'll be Mommy and Daddy.
